Fairmont Presbyterian Preschool
Since 1957 Fairmont Preschool has opened its doors to some of the youngest members of our community. In 2007 we celebrated 50 years of education, making us the longest running preschool program in the Dayton area. Sponsored by Fairmont Presbyterian Church, our preschool provides a Christian atmosphere to help children develop a positive self-image, encourage emotional and spiritual growth and experience a positive attitude toward school, teachers, friends and learning.
Fairmont Preschool is self-supporting and non-profit. The program consists of a two-day class for 3year olds and a 3-day class for 4 year old children. Registration begins in March and visits can be arranged by calling the Director Jennifer Fiden at 299-3539 for more information regarding enrolling your child in this wonderful program!

Sunday School Schedule
Sunday school is important for all ages and that is why Fairmont is committed to having programs available for both adults and youth at 9:30am every Sunday and a variety of offerings through out the week.
The adult class offering change each term, but we strive to always offer a book study, Bible study and special interest class. For the current list of adult offerings, please see the Small Groups and Discipleship link.
During the school year children 3yrs-8th grade are taught using the Faith Alive "Walk with Me" curriculum at the 9:30 Sunday school time. These classes meet as follows:
3-4yrs old: Room 107
5yrs-1st grade: Room 127
2-3rd grade: Room 134
4-5th grade: Room 133
6-8th grade: Room 112
Teens 9-12th grade are invited to join the adult classes through out the year. We also have a confirmation class which meets for ten-weeks starting in January for those students who are 9th grade-12th and wish to become members of Fairmont. For more information, please see "Confirmation" under the PYC information.
During the 10:30 worship service we invite the children ages 3yrs-6th grade to join us at "Children’s Worship" which is based on the Group Publishing curriculum of the same name. We sing praise music; have a Bible lesson and a craft and/or game. This is the same format that we use during the summer during the 9:30 Sunday school hour as well.
Presbyterian Youth Connections (PYC)
PYC meets each Sunday from 5-8pm between the first week of September and spring break (April-May usually) and is open to all 7th-12th grade students. Based on the Logos program each night is scheduled with worship/music time, dinner, recreation and Bible study. We also participate in special events through out the year such as visiting a Corn Maze, the MLK weekend Toboggan trip and various other special events.
During the summer the incoming 9th grade students through outgoing 12th grade students are invited to participate in the senior high summer trip. We rotate on every year between a retreat and a work trip. In 2007 the senior high group went to New York City to work with Youth Service Opportunities Program which partnered our teens with a variety of soup kitchens, food pantries and child care facilities for low-income families (picture at right). This summer we are planning on attending "Fun in the Son" at Myrtle Beach, NC.

Solid Grounds is an open house for the teens of our community during the high school football season. (Late August-early November) We invite all teens from 7th-12th grade to come to the church after the Fairmont home varsity football games and enjoy food, drinks, movies and a safe, chaperoned environment for the small cover charge of $1.00.
Confirmation is an opportunity for any teen 9th grade-12th to confirm his or her faith as a Christian believer and become a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church as well as the Presbyterian (USA) denomination. Classes start in January and cover church history, polity and issues of personal faith development. Each teen is partnered with an adult member of the church to share in Bible study and the experience of growing in their Christian faith. Taught by Nadia Van Dorn these classes are the first step in becoming an active member and adult in the Presbyterian Church (USA)
Intergenerational Events
Fairmont believes that a church should be an extended family and therefore anytime we can gather across generational lines, we build up the family bonds. That is why during the year we offer opportunities for the church to gather in fellowship and fun. Below are some of the intergenerational events which we do each year, these however are not our only offerings and so we invite you to check out the calendar of events for the month to find our current offerings.
GIFT (Generations in Fellowship Together)
is a monthly potluck held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00-7:00pm in our Fellowship Hall. All people are invited to bring a dish to share for 10-12 people and join us in this fellowship opportunity. This is a great way to get to know members of the church in a relaxed environment.Advent Event
is our December potluck and craft night centered on the Christmas story. We invite all people to come for dinner, to hear the Christmas story (this year it was told by "Mary"-Jesus’ mom!) and put together crafts which serve to remind us of the "reason for the season."Easter Egg Hunt
this is a new event for Fairmont and we hope you will join us! Structured like the Advent Event this is a lunch potluck which includes an Easter Egg hunt and a craft project for families. It is open to all ages from the young in age to the young at heart!Scouting at Fairmont
Fairmont is host to Cub Scout Den 28 and Boy Scout Troop 215. The Cub and Boy Scout groups are active in our church from helping to lead worship on Scout Sunday to renovating the Youth Room as part of an Eagle Scout project. We invite you to check out the Scout website at: http://www.troop215ohio.org
Kirkmont Center
The Kirkmont Center is the Miami Presbytery’s church
camp in Zanesfield, Ohio. Consisting of 300 acres of trails, meadows,
and ponds it has served as a spiritual renewal center for many of our
Fairmont family members throughout the years. Kirkmont is open all year,
though it really takes on new energy in the summer when they offer the
majority of their camps.
The Christian Education team and Session believe that financial concerns should not keep anyone from going to camp. That is why we offer scholarships to all of our church member’s children and teens who attend camp from Fairmont. We offer 80% of tuition paid for the first child in the family who attends camp and 100% for any other child of the family attending. We also offer full scholarships for children of adult volunteers who attend Kirkmont because we believe if you are giving your time and talent to bless Kirkmont, then you deserve a "thank you."
