Don't Miss "our production of "Godspell" August 15, 16 & 17

This summer, Meghan Wakeley, our Director of Music, and Nadia Van Dorn, our Director of Ministries for Children, Youth, and Families, will beholding Fairmont’s first Summer Theater Workshop, ending in a production of Godspell. The Workshop is open to all 7th grade students to adults. We will focus on the life and fellowship of Jesus Christ while learning the basics of acting, singing, and theater.

On Sunday, June 29, Fairmont celebrated the retirement of Rev. David Bickett and his wife, Mary.  We invited special guest musicians, Forte, to sing at our 10:30 service, and during the reception held for the Bicketts.  Forte was formed in the summer of 2002 at a chorus rehearsal of the Southern Gateway Chorus.  Forte is the current 3rd place quartet of the Johnny Appleseed District of The Barbershop Harmony Society.  Singing tenor is Jim Koch.  He has been a member of southern Gateway since 1965.  Ernie Blevins is the lead singer.  Ernie has been a member of the Southern Gateway since 1998.  Todd Farrow is the x-tenor singing baritone.  Todd has been singing barbershop since the fall of 2000 with the Southern Gateway Chorus.  Finishing the quartet is the bass singer Terry Healey.  Terry has been a member of southern Gateway since 1979.

In our Chancel Choir, you will find the opportunity to

explore a relationship with God and Jesus Christ through music.

The Chancel Choir sings a large variety of music, from contemporary to classical.

No experience or music reading skills required, but a desire to worship through singing is needed!

Youth Worship

For grades 7th - 12th, this is a time of intimate worship and praise for the youth of Fairmont.  Lead by our Praise and Worship leader and Nadia VanDorn, the youth will learn to speak and listen to God in a meaningful way.  Presbyterian Youth Connection (PYC) Dinner and Program will follow.

We offer two Children’s Choirs, in order to serve the Children that attend each Worship service offered at Fairmont. The Children sing at their services along with learning how to play rhythm instruments, pray, and praise through song. The Children’s Choirs combine twice a year for our Family Christmas Eve service, and in the spring.
