Here is a letter from our new Director, Hank Dahlman, to introduce himself:
Dear Folks,
Thanks for inviting me to serve you as director of the FPC Chancel Choir. Cindy and I are looking forward to joining you as we begin to serve the congregation and the greater community of God in Kettering through worship and music. After meeting and rehearsing with the choir and the terrific Judy Bede (organist), I’m excited about the possibilities for growth and service as we make music together. I hope you’ll join us as we start up in September. We’re always looking for enthusiastic folks to join us in song, so whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned pro, we welcome you to come on out on Thursdays at 7:30 PM!
Pastor Wade has introduced me elsewhere in this issue of The Call, but allow me to introduce my family. Cindy and I both grew up in Tampa, and will celebrate 27 years of marriage this November. Cindy is Director of Finance and Personnel at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Centerville, where we have been members since 1993. Our son, James, a 2005 Fairmont HS valedictorian, recently graduated from Wright State with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, and is now living in Cambridge, MA, pursuing a joint PhD/MD program at the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Center. Our daughter Amanda graduated from FHS as a valedictorian and USB president in 2008 and is now a sophomore Physics major at WSU. She also works as an intern in the research labs at Wright-Patt AFB.
I hope you have a great remainder to the summer. See you in September, and remember, we’re holding a seat open for you on Thursday nights
