Lisa Shearer, Chair of the CE Team
Since joining Fairmont in 2008, Lisa has been actively involved in the life of our church. She has worked with Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, GIFT, and PYC as a table parent and leader for the Montreat Trip. She has been on Session since 2009 and is currently the Chair of the CE Team. In worship she has assisted with Baptisms, prayed through Liturgical Dance, preached a sermon, and frequently gives the Children’s Messages and echo prayer.
In 1993 Lisa graduated from Westminster College (New Wilmington, PA) with a BA in Religion and a BA and Honors in Psychology. In 1996 she graduated from Malone University (Canton, OH) with a Master of Arts in Christian Ministries (concentration in Family and Youth Ministry.) Professionally, Lisa has worked in four different PCUSA churches in various staff positions – Director of Christian Education, Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry and as a Preschool teacher.
Ten years ago, Lisa's ministry became strictly volunteer as her family moved around the country for her husband Chris’s Air Force career. She feels privileged to have been able to stay home with their children, Cassie (4th grade) and Cameron (1st grade.) They share their life with one neurotic rescue dog named Caylee and a sweet pony, Dutchess. Lisa thoroughly enjoys reading and usually has several books going at once. She is also currently taking piano and English riding lessons along with her children.
