Women of Fairmont

Women of Fairmont (WOF) play a vital role in the life of our church. Their purpose is to nurture faith through prayer, Bible study, fellowship and service to the community, both locally and nationwide. WOF are connected to the larger church through their participation in the Presbyterian Women of the Presbytery of the Miami Valley, the Synod of the Covenant and the Presbyterian Church USA. WOF is divided into seven circles that meet monthly in homes or at the church September through May. Meeting day and times vary to accommodate members’ schedules. Each circle engages in a monthly Bible study, supports its own mission projects, fundraising projects and contributes to both the Thank Offering and Birthday Offering. Both a Winter and Spring Gathering luncheon and meeting are held hearing either from an agency the WOF financially support or an overview of the yearly Horizon’s Bible Study. WOF hold various fundraisers throughout the year with proceeds going to mission projects. Though 2009 presented economic challenges to our community, with God’s help and the hard wook of our women, over $15,000 was gives toward mission. WOF are a blessing to the women who participate as well as the women and their families that receive their financial support.
